Ned Resnikoff

Ned Resnikoff is an urban policy consultant and writer. He has previously served as the policy director for California YIMBY, policy manager at the UCSF Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative, and as a fiscal and policy analyst for the California legislature’s Legislative Analyst’s Office. He currently advises nonprofit clients on urban policy matters.
A seasoned journalist, Ned has written about housing policy and related topics for The New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, Business Insider, The New Republic, and Dissent, among other publications. He is currently working on a book about cities for Island Press, with an expected publication date of Fall 2026.
Ned holds a Masters in Public Policy from UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy.
